Although
the preservation of animal skins was carried out from the first clothing from
the
early beginnings of mankind, the first known articles made of vegetable
tanned leather were
discovered on the banks of the River Euphrates and date
back to 3300 BC. Schill and Seilacher's
involvement in the leather industry
started some 5.000 years later in 1877.
Today
Schill and Seilacher's innovative product range allows the production of high
specification leather for use in the aircraft, automobile and furniture
industries.
Furthermore
products for the production of water resistant shoe, gloving and garment
leathers belong, along with more traditional materials, to the very extensive
range of auxiliaries encompassing the requirements for the wet processing of
leather.
